To be in with the chance of winning! If you don’t enter then you can’t win! Winning a Builders’ Merchant Award is a top accolade. By winning an Award you can tell your customers, clients and peers that you are the best in the business. When you look at past winners you can see the top class businesses and people that have been celebrated and you too could be recognised for your work. If you are proud of your work, if someone in your company has gone above and beyond, or if you have a top class initiative that you want to shout about then you should definitely enter the Builders’ Merchants Awards to be celebrated for your hard work.

A. You enter via the Builders’ Merchants Awards website. By setting up an account you can select which category/ categories you would like to enter and enter online. You can come back to your entry any time, make amendments but just make sure that you submit your final entry by the 26th August 2022.

A. Any builders’, plumbers’, timber, decorators’, heating, civils, timber or other merchants; merchant wholesalers/distributors; architectural ironmongers; manufacturers/suppliers; housebuilders/developers; contractors and installers and other supplier industry customers.

A. Yes-you can enter yourself, your company, your colleagues or anyone that you think deserves to win an Award.

A. The Judges are an independent panel of leading merchant industry professionals who have years of experience in the merchant and wider construction industry. To view the judging panel for the 2022 awards please click here

A. The judging criteria for each category of award differs slightly. See our Entry forms for specific requirements by clicking on Award Categories.

Make sure that you address all of the criteria for your chosen category. Make sure that you keep within the word limit. If your category lends itself to adding images to your entry make sure that they are clear and relevant.

A. Judges will consider nominations covering any time period from October 2021 to the present day.

A. Absolutely! If you don’t enter, you won’t win, and every nomination is treated on its own merits, regardless of whether you have been successful in previous years. If you are a previous winner, try and win again. Others have. If you have been a previous finalist then go for it, and try and win this time round.

A. Please follow the recommended word counts shown on the nomination forms. As a general guide, each nomination should be between 500 and 850 words in total. Any words over the 850 maximum will be discarded.

A. The Builders’ Merchants Awards are judged by a panel of independent Judges. Each of these Judges will fully assess each category that they are judging independently following the guidelines for each specific category. The Builders’ Merchants Awards are not based on popularity but on an in-depth assessment of each entry. 99.9% of responses in the follow up survey to the 20th Anniversary Builders’ Merchants Awards said that they preferred the Judging Panel as a way of deciding who should win an Award over any other method.
