Working Towards a More Sustainable Future

Sustainability is key to our lives. How sustainable our relationship with money is, what our diet is like and how we move forward in our workplaces. It is everywhere and it is not merely a nice term to be utilised for PR, it is a fundamental principle and one in which we are looking to improve on.

We began this journey at our 2023 awards ceremony by first looking at the choice of food that we were offering to our guests. We want to ensure that the choices we are providing not only taste good and meet expectations but also where possible are kind to the environment.

Our Continuing Journey Sustainability

At the Builders' Merchants Awards we:

  1. Provide every guest with a vegetarian starter
  2. Ensure that our trophies are produced by a sustainable provider
  3. Work with a sustainable partner who helps us offset the carbon footprint of the awards by planting a tree for every trophy handed out
  4. Ensure that our guest list is available via a dedicated web source, rather than being printed for each guest

In 2026, we will continue to hold sustainability close to our hearts, alongside working Trace for Isla, and Mannok as our industry sustainability partner. This ensure that we focus on continuous improvement at the awards.

Sustainability Partner Mannok

Sustainability sits right at the heart of Mannok’s values and why we are proud to choose them as our sustainability partner for the 25th anniversary of the Builders' Merchants Awards.

Their commitment to sustainability is intrinsically linked to the products they produce and how they manufacture them. All the products are highly engineered to maximize their sustainable and energy-saving properties.

"Mannok is delighted to be a Sustainability Partner for the Builders’ Merchants Awards. Sustainability is the key priority for Mannok and with the Builders’ Merchants Awards continuing its sustainability journey this was a partnership which aligned with both of our sustainability visions.”
