Working Towards a More Sustainable Future
Sustainability is key to our lives. How sustainable our relationship with money is, what our diet is like and how we move forward in our workplaces. It is everywhere and it is not merely a nice term to be utilised for PR, it is a fundamental principle and one in which we are looking to improve on.
We began this journey at our 2023 awards ceremony by first looking at the choice of food that we were offering to our guests. We want to ensure that the choices we are providing not only taste good and meet expectations but also where possible are kind to the environment.
Our Continuing Journey Sustainability
This focus was moved forward to the next level during our 2024 awards ceremony where we made the conscious decision to continue our journey towards a more sustainable future by adding the following threads into consideration:
- Every guest was provided with a vegetarian starter
- The iconic trophies were redesigned through a more sustainable provider (who planted a tree for every trophy that was handed out)
- The guest list was provided only through a dedicated digital source
- Recyclable branded light tubes were used for the table centres.
In 2025, we will continue to embed sustainability into the Builders' Merchants Awards. While celebrating excellence, we'll focus on giving back and making sustainability central. These are initial steps and alongside working with Trace for Isla, we've also partnered with Mannok as our industry sustainability partner in order to ensure that we focus on continuous improvement.

Sustainability Partner Mannok
Sustainability sits right at the heart of Mannok’s values and why we are proud to choose them as our sustainability partner for the 2025 Builders' Merchants Awards.
Their commitment to sustainability is intrinsically linked to the products they produce and how they manufacture them. All the products are highly engineered to maximize their sustainable and energy-saving properties.
"Mannok is delighted to be a Sustainability Partner for the Builders’ Merchants Awards. Sustainability is the key priority for Mannok and with the Builders’ Merchants Awards continuing its sustainability journey this was a partnership which aligned with both of our sustainability visions.”

We are once again working directly with trace by isla, to ensure that the Builders' Merchants Awards continues to move forward with sustainability at the heart. They will be helping us to measure our sustainable footprint, looking at our suppliers, the menu selection we offer guests, and how we serve our drinks.
In 2025 we will be looking at every aspect, leaving no stone unturned in our quest to become more sustainable and we look forward to continuing forward on our sustainability journey.
