Dave Robertson

Dave Robertson has more than 35 years’ experience in the construction industry as both merchant and supplier, including significant time spent as Commercial Director of a leading national merchant chain within Grafton Group. More recently, he played a fundamental role in the strategic growth of supplier Fakro GB and was instrumental in helping the company enhance its market position in the roof window sector.

Dave also amassed extensive experience in multi-branch operations during his time at Buildbase, where he went from Regional Sales Manager to Regional Director and then Commercial Director. His comprehensive knowledge spans the entire builders’ merchant industry, from smaller independents to national corporations. He understands what makes a successful builders’ merchant, and the ways in which merchants and suppliers must work in partnership to ensure both parties are able to grow.

Dave joined IBC Buying Group in 2019 and, as Joint Managing Director, has worked with the team to transform the business and make it the leading buying group for independent merchants. He works closely with IBC Suppliers to deliver competitive product deals and opportunities for IBC’s merchant members, and to make sure IBC continues to offer the best professional support, customer service and benefits for both its members and suppliers.
