Once again, the Builders Merchants Federation is proud to be the official partner of the Builders’ Merchants Awards. The Awards recognise organisations that demonstrate excellence in every aspect of their business practice so there is a synergy between the Awards and the BMF’s own mission to help build excellence in our members’ business.

The pace of change, both in technology, the economy and other external circumstances has never been more exacting. Likewise, the need for an agile business, which can rapidly respond and adapt to ever-changing environments has never been more important. I am proud to work in an industry that respects its heritage, but places its main focus on future success.

The Builders’ Merchants Awards reward those who are prepared to think outside the box and identify alternative routes to success, and we have seen many examples of this of late. There is a saying that “fortune favours the brave”, but we believe that fortune favours those who strive for excellence in every area of their business. By doing so, they are best placed to thrive in any market.

As the industry’s trade body, the BMF’s mission is to help our members to excel, by providing the support they need to do so – from political representation when times get tough to opportunities to network and debate industry issues, from independently accredited training and development programmes throughout their career, to a full range of analytical industry reports and business services to help inform their decision making.
