Edward Parlato

I’m Chairman of the BMF Young Merchants and I’ve worked at Browns Builders Merchants for 12 years. In my time at Browns, I’ve done just about every role available, with my current role requiring me to head up the company's ERP project. The focus of this project is to change primary software provider and all of the associated connections and processes that go along with that. 

I’ve been part of the BMF Young Merchants Group for 10 years and was lucky enough to be elected vice chair 2 years ago. Since that point, the group has grown immensely with representation from every corner of merchanting, from nationals to single-branch independents, suppliers and service members. 

I was proud to be elected as the chairman of the Young Merchants Group last year. To be responsible for the next stage of growth is a huge responsibility but one that I look forward to. I love the fact that this group is dedicated to young merchants. A group that provides a supportive environment for people, where they can network and develop amongst people with similar ambitions. 

The Builders' Merchants Awards is a great chance for the best in the industry to be showcased on the main stage. To celebrate companies and individuals in this fantastic industry. A lot of times people are at the coal face so this is a great chance to be celebrated by the wider community.
